About Mount Footy 

I invented Mount Footy during lockdown. In my day job I am a web designer, and it was fun creating something ‘real’ in the world rather than just on a screen.

Mount Footy is a new interiors product which lets you hang footballs up in your home for display or storage. Simply pack up flat when not in use.

The hanging unit is designed to be light on the environment using little plastic and sourced where possible from UK suppliers.

It’s not a toy – it’s aimed at football fans 12 and upwards.

I can provide Mount Footys with a personalised photo in the picture frame to celebrate your own footballing triumphs or those of your team. It’s ideal as a really unique gift.

We’re a small business based in Christchurch, Dorset.

my footy life

As a young girl in the 1970s I avidly watched MOTD and ‘The Big Match’ on a Sunday, as well as local teams on the Rec, but girls weren’t expected to play.

After my ‘O’ Levels I eventually found a local women’s team – Molesey United – and was able to get a game, after years kicking a ball around by myself in the garden.

I played for numerous teams over the years;  Islington Ladies, Arsenal Women Reserves, Croydon Women Reserves, Freedom Glads, Clapton Orient WFC and Amhurst Aztecs FC at the Gay Games 1998 (Bronze medal) and Sydney 2002 (Gold medal!).

My teenage daughter has played for Mudeford Phoenix locally here in Christchurch, Dorset and I loved being part of the Phoenix family of parents and players which fired me up again.
 
Luckily I have in my late 50s discovered the joys of Walking Football. This is growing as a sport at an exponential rate and no wonder.  All these ex-players starting over, and no end of women who never had the chance to play football, now enjoying their moment on the ball. Bournemouth Walking Football Club is where I’m at these days. our women’s section has around 35 players signed up and Friday training sessions average about twenty women from ages 35 – 80!
 
I love how playing and watching football brings joy & excitement into people’s lives.  It was natural to design something that means you can think about the beautiful game – even when you’re off the pitch.
